For Woodford Reserve, it is about honoring a rich legacy while offering something entirely new. I want to design a special bottle set that feels strong, timeless, and full of soul. A set that captures the warmth, depth, and quiet confidence of a bourbon aged with intention. Something that reflects where it has been and hints at where it is going, with one unforgettable detail never seen before.

MODEL 1 ❌

Model 1 was a great learning experience throughout

the process of deciding on ideation.

The model conveyed a sense of grandeur but raised concerns about the bottle's "vibe." Its curved and flowing design gave it a feminine and sleek appearance, contrasting with a rugged, traditional style.

MODEL 2 ❌

Model 2 was a significant step in the design process but a little too far in the other direction

This model conveys a strong sense of power, but it takes this too far. Due to its large size and incredibly sharp edges, it may come across as arrogant and overly prominent.

MODEL 3 ✅

Model 3 was a great learning experience throughout

the process of deciding on ideation.

Model 3 was a strong balance between model 1 and model 2, with straight yet subtle edges that conveyed strength in a slightly more humble and grand way.

VALIDATION

With the project complete, it was time for the final review with my Dad, the expert himself.

He noted the bottle had a Woodford-esque look, with an ergonomic neck and a strong legacy symbol in the star design.

However, key details like the proof, age, and alcohol by volume were missing. To enhance the brand, he suggested adding barrel imagery and an embossed logo.

The bottle features a short, stout neck designed for a secure grip, easier pouring, and improved durability during shipping.

Marble Barrel Base with Silicone Pad

The bottle sits on a solid marble base shaped like a bourbon barrel. A silicone pad underneath protects surfaces and prevents slipping or scratching.
